The 3 biggest benefits of working with a coach
Two of the questions I’m asked most regularly about coaching are: who is it for and what are the biggest benefits? It’s a hard question to answer because people seek coaching for a whole host of reasons, and the outcomes can be just as varied. In my time working with over 30 1:1 clients, every single one has had a unique experience, and I think that it has to be that way to ensure each client gets what they need out of the relationship.
But there are 3 benefits of working with a coach that tend to be pretty universal, and that’s what I wanted to share with you today. These are the benefits I see each and every client experience, and the reason why I believe coaching is a truly worthwhile investment. Here goes…
Clarity
One thing that most people who invest in coaching have in common is that they’re craving a greater sense of clarity. Maybe they’re overwhelmed with options, maybe they’re struggling to figure out their next step, or maybe they know something better is out there for them, but don’t know how to get started with figuring out what that could be.
The great thing about working with a coach is that they can help you to find that clarity in a quicker and more effective way than you could on your own. They know the right questions to ask to draw out the answers you’re looking for, and they’ll be able to spot any limiting beliefs or mindset blocks that might be holding you back. In just a couple of sessions, you’ll start to build a much clearer vision of what you want in life and what you need to do in order to get there.
Confidence
After clarity, the second big thing a coach can help you with is building confidence. This is important because you can have the most perfect plan in the world, but if you don’t have the confidence to execute it, you’re never going to take the action needed to make change happen.
A good coach will work with you to build your self belief, help you see what you’re capable of, and improve your mindset in a way that gives you that burst of confidence you need to show up and start building the life or career that you dream of. I love doing this work with clients - it’s such a privilege to watch them transform in between sessions and start playing bigger.
Commitment
Finally, a huge benefit of working with a coach is that they’ll provide the accountability you need to show up and stay committed to your dreams. This is such an important step as even those of us who are very internally motivated are used to having a boss or a teacher or some other external person to help us stay on track.
Plus, just the very act of choosing to invest in yourself can shift something in your brain and help you to commit to whatever changes you’re looking to make - something shifts energetically when you decide to take a chance on yourself.
