Why I Really Love October
If you've been reading this blog for any length of time, then you might remember that last year I wrote an ode to September. September has always been one of my favourite months, but the more I think about it, the more I think I might love October even more.
Deemed the true start of autumn, it's a month that's always filled me with happiness and optimism. So today I thought I'd share with you all of the reasons why I really love October...
1) Super cosy evenings
Cosy evenings had to be first on my list - who doesn't love them! I'm a real homebody and the dark nights make it much easier to opt for snuggling under the blankets with all the candles lit rather than hitting the tiles. The return of the great TV (I'm looking at you Strictly and GBBO) is just the icing on the cake! Plus all the cosy nights in is a GREAT excuse to buy new PJs...
2) The return of proper dressing
Is it just me, or does everyone dress just that bit better in autumn? I, for one, never know how to dress when the weather is too warm - I always end up looking a bit sweaty or a bit too casual and I can never decide what's appropriate, but in autumn I really embrace putting outfits together. I love pulling all my jumpers and boots and scarves out - cosy clothes always make me feel more like me.
3) The changing leaves
Okay this is a bit of a cliche one, but it's so true - I love it when the leaves start to change colour! We're lucky enough to live right near the canal and I love crunching through the gorgeous red and gold leaves on our Sunday morning walks - they make everything look so much prettier.
4) The start of the holiday season
October means Halloween which means the start of the winter holiday season! I love the little run from October to New Year as it includes all of my favourite celebrations - Halloween, Bonfire night, my birthday and of course - Christmas. I feel like this time of year is always so exciting and a great time to make lots of special memories with all of my favourite people - I'm definitely going to be making the most of it.
