A Festive To Do List

Can you believe we're nearing the end of November already? Usually by this time of year I'm giddy with excitement at the prospect of Christmas, but this year I feel like it has really snuck up on me and I'm not feeling festive at all yet! With December only a week away, I feel like that needs to change ASAP. So in the spirit of trying to get that warm and cosy Christmassy feeling, I thought I'd put together a little festive to do list. I'm going to try and tick them off as I go along, so watch this space!

1) Visit a Christmas market

The Manchester ones are always my favourite, but this year they have switched the Leeds ones up a little bit too - I can't wait to check them out.

2) Watch Love Actually, Elf, The Holiday, Home Alone (1&2) and Miracle on 34th Street

I absolutely LOVE all of these films and they never fail to get me in the festive spirit. I *may* have watched Elf already...

3) Have a go at making mulled wine

I always have a cup of hot mulled wine at the Christmas markets, but this year I'd love to have a go at making it at home. I reckon it will make the house smell amazing!

4) Go to a carol concert

Carol concerts never fail to make me feel mega cheery and festive - I usually try and go to the one at my Mum's church so hopefully we'll be able to make it again this year.

5) Make our house look mega festive

This year will be the first Christmas where we're in our own home rather than rented accommodation and I can't wait to make it look all festive and pretty. I have bought SO many new baubles for the occasion.

6) Go ice skating

I'm not very good at it but I find it really fun. I quite like the look of this rink at Liverpool's Ice Festival - it's supposed to have a great view of the Liver Building.

7) Read A Christmas Carol

I've seen the movie so many times but I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I've never read the book. I think I might treat myself to this gorgeous version.

8) Bake reindeer cookies

It's become a bit of a Christmas tradition for me to bake these reindeer cookies - I just think they're so cute! Plus they taste delicious.

9) Do some Christmas crafting

In the past I have made tree decorations and cards, which I've really enjoyed. This year I'm thinking about making a festive wreath for our front door, but I'm not sure how it will turn out.

10) Spend lots of fun time with family and friends

By far the best thing about this time of year is getting to spend lots of time with my favourite people. I've already got a couple of festive evenings pencilled in, including a Christmas dinner and a celebration with some of my favourite blogging ladies. I can't wait to plan even more!

What's on your festive to do list?
