Staying at the CitizenM Tower of London Hotel

So if you read this post you'll know that Sam and I had a little night away in London last weekend. We stayed at the CitizenM Tower of London hotel and OMG you guys, I'm OBSESSED. The hotel is located literally above Tower Hill tube situation, which is on a direct underground line from Kings Cross St Pancras, so it's super easy to get to if you're not too familiar with London. The location is really great too - the Tower of London and Tower Bridge are right opposite, and it's walking distance to some great hotspots like Borough Market and the Southbank.

We didn't know much about CitizenM before arriving so we weren't quite sure what to expect, but we were definitely not picturing anything quite as cool as this! The Tower of London hotel has a Britpop theme and the lobby was filled with art and mementoes that just oozed 90s cool which is of course very on trend at the moment! There were plenty of little areas to sit and chill out in, and a very well stocked bar on the ground floor too.

We checked in quickly (it was really straightforward - as easy as just typing your name onto a screen!) and headed up to our room. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but CitizenM have made a real effort to prioritise all of the essentials for a great stay. The gigantic XL bed, a huge TV, a rainforest shower and a mirror with perfect lighting for putting your make up on - win.

Each room also comes complete with it's own iPad which you can use to control everything from the blinds to the TV. Sam had lots of fun playing around with the mood lighting and opening and closing the curtains, and we found the bar and restaurant recommendations on there really helpful too.

It was the perfect base for our short trip and after a night of cocktail drinking and burger eating, it was lovely to return to our giant bed and watch one of the many films that were available (we opted for The BFG but there was loads of choice). We both said we had one of the best night's sleeps we had had in ages and woke up feeling refreshed and ready for another day of exploring. But not before breakfast of course!

We were both really impressed with our brekkies and I'd go as far as to say that it's probably the best hotel breakfast buffet I've had (and I've stayed in some pretty swanky places for work!). There was tonnes of choice (both hot and cold) and the quality of the produce was really good too - artisan sourdough bread, delicious cumberland sausages, freshly baked croissants... my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Plus they had these yummy bubble and squeak hash browns which were the perfect antidote to my little hangover.

The hotel also has a rooftop bar which we managed to check out when we went to collect our luggage later that afternoon. The cocktails were on the pricey side (£12 is expensive even for London!) but they were delicious and boy oh boy, were the views worth it! We managed to catch the sunset and we spent a lot of time oohing and ahhing as we looked out over the city - it was the perfect way to round off our trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at CitizenM and I honestly don't think you will find a hotel with better amenities for the same price in London. We loved how stylish it was, and how they had got all of the important stuff right - super comfy beds, fast wifi, great food and drinks... We kept saying how it was the perfect millennial hotel!

They have two other hotels in London as well as sites in New York and Amsterdam - I know we'll definitely be staying again soon!

* This post is in collaboration with CitizenM. As always, all opinions are my own and I would happily have parted with my hard earned cash for this fab hotel.
