If we were having a coffee date, I'd tell you...

One of my favourite bloggers, Chelsea, writes what she calls coffee date posts each month, and I love them. The premise is simple - she writes a post telling her readers all of the things she’d be chatting about if she was having a coffee date with them. A sort of catch up post if you will.

And as it’s been a while since we’ve had a proper catch up around here, I thought I’d borrow her idea. So, if we were having a coffee date, I’d tell you…

That our holiday to Skye was just what I needed

We had such a joyful, restorative and relaxing week, and as we left the island I felt like my cup had been refilled. It was so lovely to head off on a holiday without any agenda or itinerary, and to just lean into what felt good each day. We walked, napped, cooked, read, star gazed, hot tubbed, wrote and slept more than we have in ages. It was total bliss.

That building a business feels a lot like conducting a series of experiments

Building my business has been a big focus of 2019 so far for me, and I’m learning so much in the process. I always thought that building a business would be formulaic and strategic, but I’m realising that actually it’s more like conducting a series of experiments and seeing what works. Each little experiment teaches me so much about myself and the work that I want to do.

That I’m feeling grateful for the warmer days and longer nights

I’m not sure I’ve ever been more ready for the spring/summer season to arrive than I have been this year. The warmer days and longer nights always fuel a real period of creativity and contentment for me, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the sense of hope and promise that’s been buzzing through the air.

That I’m loving spending time outdoors at the moment

I’ve never thought of myself as an outdoorsy person, but when I look back at my favourite moments of 2019 so far, so many of them have been spent in the great wide open. I’ve really been enjoying getting out and about for long walks, noticing all of the little changes in nature and generally just breathing in that good old country air.

That I can’t stop reading

I’ve always been a bit of a bookworm, but recently I can’t seem to stop reading! I’ve been powering through my Goodreads challenge, and am already more than halfway to my reading goal for the year. I find that the more I read the quicker I become, which is handy seeing as the stack of books next to my bed never seems to end.

That I’m really enjoying this season of life

Life feels full of the good stuff at the moment - date nights with my husband, quality time with our families, fun packed holidays and plenty of time to create. I know it won’t always be this way and so I’m savouring this season of life and all of the joy that comes with it while I can.

Now it’s your turn - what would you tell me if we were having a coffee date?
