My Summer 2019 Bucket List (+ a free printable for you!)

Summer is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited about it! It feels like there’s been a real buzz in the air over the last few weeks - the sun is shining, the kids break up from school in a few weeks time and we have a long (hopefully!) hot summer rolling out ahead of us.

I mentioned in this post that my calendar is actually looking pretty empty for summer. I’ve made a conscious effort this year to keep the diary clear so that I can soak up all of the goodness that the season has to offer. And to make sure I do just that, I’ve put together a little summer bucket list! Here goes…

  • Try wild swimming. This has been on my bucket list for a while, and I’m determined to tick it off this summer! Anyone know any good spots near Leeds?

  • Take part in a 5K Park Run. I’ve been redoing the same few weeks of the Couch to 5k programme for months now, so having the goal of completing a 5K Park Run should hopefully help to motivate me.

  • Have a go at making elderflower cordial. There are lots of elderflowers popping up on the elder trees near our house, so I’d love to put it to good use.

  • Watch a sunrise. Because they’re just insanely beautiful at this time of year, aren’t they?

  • Watch a sunset. Hopefully in a sunny climate with a cold, delicious cocktail in hand…

  • Read 20 more books. I’ve made really good progress with my reading challenge this year, and I want to keep the momentum up this summer.

  • Finish our garden makeover. We started this in May but bad weather and a burst drain somewhat thwarted our plans. I’d love to finish it ASAP.

  • Have a BBQ. And once the garden makeover is finished we can fire up our BBQ again - yum!

  • Go camping for the weekend. We bought a new tent last year and I’m looking forward to getting good use out of it this summer - any campsite recommendations would be very welcome.

  • Watch some shooting stars. The peak of the Perseids showers always coincide with my husband’s birthday, and watching them is a definite highlight of every summer.

  • Go strawberry picking. This has been on my bucket list for the last few years, but I’ve never quite managed it. This year I will!

  • Take a day trip to Sheffield. I’ve been hearing so many brilliant things about Sheffield recently and so I’d love to do a local city break there. It’s been years since I last visited so I’m excited to see what’s changed.

What’s on your summer bucket list? I’ve put together a little printable for you to write your own - either save the image below, or click here to download your copy.
