My goals for the rest of 2020

I’m a big fan of checking in on my goals in September - it’s something I like to do every year, and it always feels beneficial to me. For a start, it helps me to feel like I’m harnessing that “back to school” energy and reconnecting with my goals and ambitions, but it also gives me the opportunity to really focus and prioritise on what’s most important to me.

I always find that this season between the end of summer and Christmas flies by super quickly, but having a good understanding of what I want to achieve helps me to stay productive and end the year on a high. With that in mind, here are my goals for the rest of 2020…

Complete my 100 book challenge

Some of you might know that at the start of the year I set myself the challenge of reading 100 books this year! It sounds like A LOT, but I’ve been building up to this over the last few years and I’m determined to hit my goal before 2020 is out. At the time of writing I’ve currently read 65, so I’m two thirds of the way there…

Book out my coaching practice for Q4

Next week I’ll be opening up my coaching books for Q4 (October-December). 1:1 coaching is my favourite work to do in my business, and I can’t wait to help more people reconnect with themselves and find more joy in their lives. If you’d like to be the first to hear when my books open, fill out this form and you’ll be added to the mailing list.

Keep up with my exercise habit

In the last few months I’ve worked really hard to make daily exercise a key part of my routine, and I feel all the better for it. Starting my day with some form of movement helps me feel more focused, energetic and positive, and I really want to keep prioritising this habit even as the days get darker and colder.

Get off to a good start at uni

Some of you might have seen me mentioning that I’m going back to uni this month to start an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology & Coaching Psychology, so one of my goals for the rest of 2020 is to get off to a good start! I’ve got my textbooks and new notebook at the ready, and I can’t wait to get stuck in.

Write and submit my book proposal

Some might think that a full coaching practice and a Masters might be enough to keep busy with, but I also want to use the next few months to work on my book proposal and submit it to a few agents. This feels like such a scary thing to write down as having a book published is a HUGELY emotional goal for me, and a book proposal is only the very first step, but we all have to start somewhere, right?!

Focus on making the best of this strange time

Last but by no means least, one thing I want to bear in mind in these coming months is to make the most of whatever life throws at us. It isn’t a tangible goal like the others on my list, but it’s important all the same - none of us know what the rest of 2020 will look like, but we can all commit to focusing on what we can control and making the very best we can of the rest of this year.
