Find Your Thing

The average person will spend 90,000 hours at work - over a third of our adult lives. And that’s before you factor in working late, checking emails at the weekend or the brain space work takes up when we’re not officially logged in.

That’s a lot of hours right? It’s the majority of the time we spend awake. It’s more than the amount of time we get to spend with our kids or our friends, and probably significantly more than we have to invest in our hobbies or passions.

Which begs the question: if so many of us are spending so much time at work, shouldn’t we be making sure work is working for us? Shouldn’t we be searching for a career that feels purposeful and meaningful, that supports our wider goals of joy and freedom, instead of settling for a job that is at best “fine” and at worst makes us completely miserable?

Our work informs so much about us - our identities, our routines, our moods, our relationships, our energy. I want to help you make sure it’s working for you, that it’s supporting all aspects of the life you want to build. And I’m a bit of an expert at doing just that - I’ve helped hundreds of people find more joyful careers and I’ve even published academic research exploring how we can use positive psychology interventions to support career changers.

I get a kick out of helping find their “thing” - the work that lights them up and makes them feel fulfilled. And I want to help you, too. Because if you’re not enjoying the thing you’re spending the majority of your waking hours doing, chances are you’re going to find it pretty hard to live a joyful life.

Introducing…Find Your Thing.

A 6 week career change programme, designed to help you find the work that lights you up.

What is Find Your Thing?

Here’s what our previous participants are up to now…

“Since completing Find Your Thing, I’ve moved from full time employment to going freelance and it's been great. Obviously lots of learning curves and in no way easy but the work in Find Your Thing massively impacted my decision and I regularly look at notes such as remembering my values and my 'why' when I'm feeling stressed.” - Anisha

“Find Your Thing is a truly amazing programme, truly life changing for careers but also for a greater sense of identity which is useful in all aspects of life. Since finishing, I’ve had a funding application approved for a Masters to enhance my skills at work and I’m also working towards a coaching accreditation.” - Sophie

“I have shadowed another department at work and got involved with the work they do. I have taken part in volunteering projects to broaden my skills and meet likeminded people. I am currently applying for 5 roles, and have secured two interviews already! Thank you, Sophie!” - Laura

“I told my boss all about the course and it prompted us to carve out a new role for me which will involve my secret sauce (and more dosh). Happy days! Thank you!” - Hannah
