Career coaching
The Joy of Work
The average person will spend 90,000 hours at work - over a third of our adult lives. And that’s before you factor in working late, checking emails at the weekend or the brain space work takes up when we’re not officially logged in.
That’s a lot of hours right? It’s the majority of the time we spend awake. It’s more than the amount of time we get to spend with our kids or our friends, and probably significantly more than we have to invest in our hobbies or passions.
Which begs the question: if so many of us are spending so much time at work, shouldn’t we be making sure work is working for us? Shouldn’t we be searching for a career that feels purposeful and meaningful, that supports our wider goals of joy and freedom, instead of settling for a job that is at best “fine” and at worst makes us completely miserable?
Our work informs so much about us - our identities, our routines, our moods, our relationships, our energy. I want to help you make sure it’s working for you, that it’s supporting all aspects of the life you want to build. And I’m a bit of an expert at doing just that - I’ve helped hundreds of people find more joyful careers and I’ve even published academic research exploring how we can use positive psychology interventions to support career changers.
I get a kick out of helping to change their careers. I love helping people to see what’s possible for them, sketching out a plan for a more joyful working life. I relish supporting them in the process as they take action. And I adore hearing from clients months and years down the line, when they tell me that changing their career was the best thing they’ve ever done.
If you’re ready to make a change but don’t know where to start, I’d love to support you. I’ve got a brand new coaching package especially for career changers, and the capacity to take on 3 clients this spring. You can find all of the details below, along with a link to book a coaching consulting call if you want to have a chat!

The Process
1 x 90 minute kick off session
We’ll kick things off with a 90 minute coaching session, held online or in person in Leeds if you prefer. In this session we’ll explore your previous experience and hopes for the future, and I’ll share tools from positive psychology with you that can help you to identify your strengths, values, lifestyle goals and career vision.
By the end of this session, you’ll be clearer on your desires and the resources you have to help you get there, and we’ll have crafted a plan of action to help you start making your career goals a reality.
3 x 60 minute coaching sessions
We’ll then have 3 further 60 minute coaching sessions to make sure you feel well supported during the process of making a change. These can be used at a pace that best suits you, but must be taken before the end of 2024.
Things we might use these sessions include dealing with any mindset or confidence blocks, navigating job applications and preparing for interviews, developing your plan of action further, or anything else that will support you to meet your career goals.
Support in between sessions
In between sessions you’ll have access to me on email. This is the perfect place to get a pep talk before an interview, share any news or check in with progress if you like.
You’ll also have access to your own password protected page on my website where we’ll store the notes from our calls and any actions and tasks for you to complete between sessions.
