Some things bringing me joy right now

One of my favourite practices for living a joyful life is to notice what is actually bringing me joy. By reflecting on where I’m finding pockets of happiness, fulfilment, magic and contentment, I am better able to inject more joy into my life - plus, reflecting on and practicing gratitude for all that is good is a joyful act in and of itself.

So today, I thought I’d share a list of the things bringing me joy right now. I’d encourage you to make your own, and I’d love to hear what’s on yours!

Sunflowers. I’ve been buying a bunch for my kitchen each week, and they put a smile on my face every time I see them.

Reconnecting with my work after a month or so away. It’s cheesy, but I feel oh so lucky for this business of mine and all that is to come.

Being an auntie. Nothing feels more joyful than bouncing my little niece on my knee or listening to my nephew sing in the car.

Cooking. While I was completing my Masters my husband took the reins in the kitchen, but I’m loving having the time to experiment with new recipes again.

Really good telly. I’m not a huge TV watcher, but at this time of year there’s always something great on - I’ve been loving Vigil, Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing and A House Through Time.

Slowly getting back into some sort of routine after a very fun and spontaneous summer. Early nights and morning routines have never felt so good.

The golden hour glow that September always brings - glorious. My camera roll is full of photos of the light and I have no regrets.

Putting proper outfits together again. After 18 months of living in leggings, it feels so good to shop my own wardrobe.

Driving out to somewhere gorgeous for a walk. Being in nature always brings me joy, and I feel so lucky to have so much beauty on our doorstep.

Being able to experience live music again. We got to see Tom Jones perform in a tiny venue a few weeks ago, and watching people dance to songs they love was just pure magic.

The first signs of autumn. I’m an autumn baby, and I can’t help but feel giddy when the leaves start to change and the air gets a little cooler.

Burning the fancy candles and spritzing my favourite perfume. I’m done with saving things for best.

Making tentative future plans. Who knows what the next few months will hold, but for now, I’m feeling hopeful.

What’s bringing you joy right now?
